Overview
Picture any industry – from automotive to warehousing, electronics to medical, pharmaceutical to food. Now imagine playing a key role in the development of these products – working alongside your customers' engineering teams to concurrently develop solutions for safely packaging their products before they even come to market. The sales consultant develops new clientele and cultivates an existing customer base by being acutely focused on the customers' needs, developing catered solutions, and ensuring timely and reliable delivery of product.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and engage with a roster of leads and prospects.
- Identify customer problems (opportunities) and present customized solutions that meet the customer's needs.
- Utilize an established process for selling products and value-added services to meet or exceed individual and company goals.
- Utilize CRM to document progress in the sales cycle and trigger follow up to build on strong customer interactions.
- Support Customer Service and Inside Sales to proactively meet the needs of our customers.
- Align with other company sales representatives and the supply base to expand segment and product knowledge while collaborating on promoting solutions to customers.
- Engage with customers at all levels of their organization.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and other functional areas to meet overall company goals.
Requirements
- Sales Consultants will be friendly and inquisitive, eager to both learn and contribute to the team.
- Bachelor's degree in a Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of successful sales experience; territory sales or account management.
- Experience and knowledge of the packaging industry preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding or experience from a large, national, or decentralized manufacturing organization is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of managing a customized sales cycle to provide solutions to clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, people and diplomacy skills required.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products as well as CRM applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver's license and full-time access to a vehicle required.
