Job description
High and Rubish Insurance Agency is a well-established, independent agency in Chapel Hill looking for a career-oriented individual to join the agency as a personal lines account manager.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Day-to-day maintenance and servicing of assigned personal lines accounts, including but not limited to:
- Maintaining a high level of client service and satisfaction
- Marketing and placement of renewal accounts as appropriate
- Achieving agency account retention goals through proactive account rounding, upselling of limits and coverages, and providing extraordinary client service
DUTIES (including but not limited to):
- Handling client accounts and applying problem-solving techniques to various issues concerning cancellations, claims, renewals, and carriers
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers, marketing representatives, and underwriters to help our team grow
- Maintaining and updating client files to ensure proper documentation by processing all policies, endorsement changes, invoices, binders, certificates of insurance, documentation, activities, etc.
- Responding to client inquiries, incoming e-mail, mail, and company requests in accordance with agency guidelines
- Participating in courses for insurance/sales skills. Maintaining current knowledge of underwriting requirements of carriers. Keeping current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate state license(s). Minimum three years of insurance or equivalent experience preferred.
- Relevant knowledge of lines of personal insurance, agency operations, and risk assessment/management techniques
- Customer service, sales, and problem-solving experience
- Excellent time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
