Position Overview:

Developmental Specialist for Infants and Toddlers

Summary of Main Duties:

You'll partner with and provide support, knowledge, and education about child development to parents or families of infants or toddlers with disabilities. Your goal is to ensure the child's optimal development and functional participation within their family and community. This position, offering 40 hours per week, emphasizes cognitive processes, communication, motor skills, behavior, and social interactions for the child.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide home-based and remote services to families from diverse backgrounds with children ages 0-3 experiencing developmental delays.
Collaborate with families to assess the child's development, review progress, and adjust outcomes as needed.
Work with families to develop Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals and strategies with our multi-disciplinary team of therapists.
Model and coach caregivers, integrating strategies into daily routines to aid in the child developmental milestones.
Identify, research, and refer families to community resources supporting IFSP outcomes and addressing immediate family needs.
Qualifications:

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education.
Alternatively, certification by the Rhode Island Department of Education as an Early Childhood Education teacher, Early Childhood Special Education teacher, or in All Grades Special Education.
