Job Details
- Shifts: Days - 5x8 hours, 40hrs/week
- Work Location: Onsite, Saratoga, NY
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for catheterization procedures.
- Explain the procedure to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring informed consent.
- Set up and calibrate imaging and monitoring equipment in the Cath Lab.
- Sterilize and maintain catheters, guidewires, and other procedural equipment.
- Assist the cardiologist or radiologist during diagnostic and interventional procedures, such as angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements.
- Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, ultrasound) to visualize and guide catheter placement.
- Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any complications in the patients medical record.
- Monitor patients post-procedure for any complications or adverse reactions.
- Communicate effectively with cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the Cath Lab team.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or other complications during procedures.
Requirements
Education
- Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; BSN required
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying
Experience
- 2 years of experience in the specialty. Travel experience preferred
Licenses
- NY State License (required at time of submission).
