Job description
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude as well as the ability to work with others in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with strong attention to detail. A recent graduate with a Risk Management / Insurance concentration and 3+ years of experience within wholesale insurance a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Review loss control records on a daily basis to ensure we are adhering to carrier guidelines.
- Follow up on outstanding surveys with the vendors and document file accordingly.
- Review loss control surveys against supplemental underwriting application for accuracy and any discrepancies.
- Follow up until completion and work with underwriter to provide any additional detail as requested.
- Provide monthly renewal summary for renewing accounts of previous loss control, status, locations to be surveyed and upload to various internal systems/programs and attend monthly renewal strategy meetings to review. Provide calendar of loss control needed for upcoming terms.
- Track hours/visits for all loss control vendors. Provide report to include annual trends and internal statistics to be provided to the Director of Risk Management.
- Create and provide monthly reports for each carrier/program to track new claims, open claims and various other data points.
- Assure accounts are consistently followed-up in a timely manner.
- Support of underwriting and policy management processes.
- Data Entry in Agency Management Software.
- Assist with AR Report and broker correspondence for payment.
- Assist with compliance/operations projects as required.
- Continue risk management coursework
- Attend conferences as requested.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Concentration on Business Administration, Risk Management or Finance/Accounting is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience within wholesale insurance is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs; Advanced Excel skill is a plus.
- Organization Skills: Extremely organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently on multiple projects concurrently while maintaining keen attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of the commercial construction industry is a plus.
