Job description
Test Engineer (labview)
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Interview Mode: Phone + Skype
We are looking to add a member to our Product Validation and Electrification team supporting verification of reliability of electronics through varying conditions.
Responsibilities include:
Helping to manage hardware test projects, working with Sr Engineers to define scopes by communicating with different groups to gain clarity around issues and build out solutions
Helping to create and conducting automated tests using LabVIEW
Reading and interpreting schematics and creating wiring diagrams related to sensors and systems
Working with technicians in testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and wiring of electronics
Assisting in the development and conducting tests to ensure reliability of electronics through varying conditions, including temperature, weather events, vibration, and stress.
Using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other testing equipment to perform troubleshooting
Interacting with different groups and teams within the organization during various stages of projects (each project is typically less than a month in scope).
1 st role qualification
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with necessary experience.
Knowledge of hardware test experience
Knowledfe of experience with LabVIEW
Knowledge of C programming or Python
Exposure to PCB Design experience (Cadence, virtuoso, etc)
Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, fluke meters, or other troubleshooting equipment
Knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams
Understanding of currents, circuits, voltages, resistances, and other electrical concepts.
MS Excel experience
Understanding of analog electronics
Good communication skills and understanding
Understanding of mechanics of a system, such as hose connections, fluid flow systems, and the like.
Experience using OrCAD or design software preferred
2 nd role qualification
Desired Skills/Abilities
Entry level experience designing and executing physical hardware testing using LabView
Knowledge of test systems design using National Instruments hardware
Knowledge of interfacing NI hardware to communicated and control hardware devices such as motors, actuators, sensors, CAN communication, etc
Knowledge of developing test automation logic and GUI using Labview
Knowledge of Test Stand is nice to have
Ability to learn how to work with stakeholders to develop test requirements
Ability to learn how to manage testing projects and provide communication to internal and cross-functional teams
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
