As a Senior Software Engineer for Open Platform Engineering, you will join a platform team that is responsible for advancing the open API products based on industry definitions by HL7® (Health Level 7 International). The APIs are built utilizing standards like Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) and Substitutable Medical Applications Reusable Technology (SMART®) standards which enable system integrations with the Oracle Cerner Millennium® database or web-based applications to be integrated with and launched from within Oracle Cerner’s electronic medical record applications. These capabilities are deployed across multiple cloud regions today and must support commercial and regulatory requirements unique to each region.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills with experience in cloud-based web services. They must have the desire to work in a highly collaborative environment that stretches across 3 development regions globally. They are also expected to handle the responsibilities of the full SDLC with designing, developing, testing, and reviewing of code for modest level changes of their own or peers on the team.
Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications:
+ BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
+ At least 4 years of software engineering work or related experience.
+ Experience with one or more preferred programming languages, but not limited to: Java, C#, C++, Ruby.
+ Experience with building web services.
+ Development experience with RESTful API design.
+ Experience with automated testing frameworks
+ Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
+ Written and verbal communication skills.
+ Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience building Ruby on Rails web services.
+ Experience with cloud-based platforms.
+ Experience with observability tools like Splunk and New Relic.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Experience with Health Information Technology.
+ Experience with any HL7® interfaces, specifically (FHIR®).
+ Experience collaborating with team members across multiple time zones.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
