Small Molecule Compound Management Assistant (Contract)
Do you have a passion for high-throughput drug discovery and a knack for organization? This contract position in our Bioassays team offers an exciting opportunity to support the critical function of small molecule compound management in a fast-paced drug discovery environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process compound requests with accuracy and efficiency using automated workflows, liquid handling tools, and sample management systems, supporting high-throughput screening (HTS) and hit-to-lead efforts.
- Prepare assay-ready compound plates on a set schedule for weekly profiling assays, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate the logistics of compound movement by managing incoming and outgoing shipments to/from contract research organizations (CROs), partners, and collaborators.
- Maintain the integrity of the compound management process by performing quality control procedures on liquid handling equipment and troubleshooting issues under supervision.
- Contribute to a clean and well-maintained workspace by assisting with regular upkeep and ordering of related consumables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Desired Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working in a compound management group is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation platforms, especially HighRes Biosolutions robotics, is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or databases is desired.
- Experience in basic cell culture to maintain multiple cell lines is preferred.
