As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are looking for a
Pharmacy Assistant to assist our Jacksonville, FL Clinics! Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Assists the Pharmacy Tech, and in collaboration with:
- Verifies that information on the medication is complete and accurate.
- Enters data in computer system/EMR, recording all the medications, purchase orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
- Orders, receives, and maintains the inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security within the facility.
- Creates and distributes computer reports
- Utilizes Individual goals and KPI models to measure and report on performance improvement
EDUCATION - High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or hospital preferred.
REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE - Knowledge of pharmacy processes including medical terminology and proper hand hygiene.
- Knowledge of EMR computer charting and documentation.
- Knowledge of basic clinic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of medical office records and billing systems preferred.
SKILLS - Skill in using computer programs and applications.
- Demonstrates familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Skill in problem-solving.
- Skill in communicating via telephone and writing.
- Skill in prioritizing work duties.
- Skill in organizing tasks/work orders.
- Skill in using customer service skills in dealing with frustrated users.
- Skill in problem-solving.
- Skill in maintaining a safe operating environment.
- Skill office equipment: computer, Xerox machine, and fax machine.
ABILITIES - Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish professional working relationships with providers, staff, and the public.
- Ability to scan materials into the correct patient chart.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in user friendly terms verbally and in writing.
- Ability to be a team player with effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS - Normal pharmacy environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS - Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
- Some bending and stretching required.
- Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
