Service Technician Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency, following dealership policies and procedures
- Test drive vehicles to verify guest concerns and ensure full repair resolution
- Test vehicle components and systems using advanced diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with Service Managers to keep clients informed of their vehicle status
- Provide estimates of the time required for additional repairs, if needed
- Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications
Service Technician Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Unwavering ethics and values
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Fast, eager learner and team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Willingness to learn new technology
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Career-driven mindset
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen prior to employment
