Manager, Quality
Description
Responsible for the execution of all or a subset of a key process in the New and/or Current Product Quality space. For example, in current product quality this could be the PQC and/or GPRP process, or in VPI this could be the PPP, VPI or assessment process. In the Corporate function this could mean leading improvement initiatives relating to these processes, people capabilities, processes, and tools. This role advocates for product quality and is an internal champion on behalf of the customer. This role partners very strongly with the Customer Quality role.
Responsible for the capability of the process within the business unit or entity
Ensure the process is operational and capable of meeting the needs of the business.
Escalate any gaps in resources, requirements that prohibit operation of the process.
Ensure key process indicators are visible to the right stakeholders and that process performance is clearly communicated.
Lead and/or sponsor improvement work that improves the capability of the process and define a roadmap for future improvement.
Ensure the process is delivering value to customers through effective measures and voice of customer (VOC)
Assess the effectiveness and capability of the process by leading and/or sponsoring resulting improvement work.
Ensure users of the process are trained and capable.
Coaches best practice for execution of the processes.
Where necessary, ensure users have pre-defined escalation paths to quickly eliminate roadblocks.
Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $100,000.00-$150,000.00. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
Certified Green Belt preferred (Can be General, PPS, or 6S stats)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Significant relevant experience required (5 Years) Areas of Experience Preferred: Customer Facing, Cross Functional, Service or Product Engineering, Quality.
Work to plant objectives
Achieve all site quality metric deliverables
Act as TS Management Representative.
Coordinate documentation, management reviews, internal audits and corrective actions to ensure compliance of York’s Quality Management System.
Direct supervision of Quality Engineers and/or Operations Specialists within the Quality Assurance Department.
Supervise and/or coordinate all work carried out by support groups, including test labs, material labs, gage labs, layout services, etc.
Maintain operating budget for Quality Assurance Department.
Coordinate recall of product, when required (from customers or field).
Lead the efforts to achieve and maintain certification to ISO/IATF 16949.
Define and assign adequate resources to implement and maintain the Quality System.
Ensure proper training for quality related resources: (internal auditors, Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, etc.)
Advise staff on issues of compliance to ISO/IATF 16949 standards, lead management reviews and coordinates quality communications.
Communicate effectively with Customers in order to resolve issues and maintain a high level of Customer Satisfaction (includes both internal and external customers).
Ensure manufactured products are in compliance with engineering specifications.
Provide advanced quality planning support to the manufacturing plant.
Gather, analyze and distribute information related to customer needs, expectations and perceptions.
Responsible for defining, compiling, analyzing and reporting all quality related metrics.
Respond in a timely manner to all customer, vendor or plant inquiries (phone-mail and e-mail messages).
