Job description
Seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team . Position may require the ability to float to multiple physician practices, performing both clinical and clerical tasks as determined by need and appropriate per practice.
Essential Functions:
- Perform selected clinical and administrative duties.
- Assist providers in preparing for physicals, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Administer immunizations and injections as instructed by the provider.
- Take patient histories and vital signs, collect and analyze specimens, and perform EKGs.
- Change dressings and assist with wound care.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and maintain an adequate level of supplies and equipment needed for patient care.
- Remove sutures and castings.
- Assist with scheduling tests and treatments and follow through with referrals and pre-certifications as necessary.
- Call or fax prescriptions, under the provider's direction.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Assist the providers with the administrative aspects of their position to ensure the efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintain provider appointment scheduling and any changes to their schedules.
- Implement physician orders under physician direction and notify patients of results as directed by the physician.
- Experience with computer applications required .
Qualifications:
- One year of medical office experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
- Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or equivalent preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required .
