As the next railroad grade separation engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating with professional/non-professional engineering and legal officials of various railroad companies, their consultants, and city and county engineers and officials to resolve issues involving work to be performed by both parties as pertains to trunkline projects and railroad bridge projects statewide in conjunction with a wide variety of department personnel.
• Working on policies and practices that impact the rail industry, private businesses, and state and local governments.
• Teaming with other MDOT project managers and asset managers to program projects for rail assistance. 
• Serving as the department’s trunkline engineering liaison contact on railroad grade separation facilities and bridge matters that do not involve trunkline system or non-MDOT fund projects.

 
The current remote work policy at the OOR allows for in-office work on the first and third Wednesday of every month (this policy is subject to change at any time).

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Transportation Engineering Licensed Specialist 13 position.

Education
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.

Experience
Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Transportation Engineer Licensed 12.

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

Possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan.
