BAE Systems is looking for a Design Quality Engineer II who will be a member of a cross-functional program team. They will contribute to Program performance, verification of product/process conformance, and customer satisfaction by applying their technical expertise to execute product assurance engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. This position will consist of supporting Engineering in the execution of the Quality Management System Manual and Program Contractual Requirements within the Navigation & Sensor Systems Product Line. Typical responsibilities for planning, documenting, and implementing the Quality Assurance function include:
- Member of the team responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and validation of the Quality Management System in the Business Area site to assure company and contractual quality requirements are satisfied.
- Contribute to Engineering project pursuits and bid estimates.
- Develop Product/Project Quality Assurance plans and ensure execution.
- Provide clear communication and flow down of program quality requirements to all affected disciplines (Engineering, Operations, and Program Management).
- Support project tailoring, project plan/documentation development, and other activities to establish the project’s execution processes.
- Advise project leadership on issues and best practices impacting Engineering quality or project performance to cost and schedule.
- Use metrics and measures effectively to analyze and report on program performance information.
- Uses trend analysis and other tools to identify early warning indicators of program issues and initiates preventative or corrective actions.
- Cross pollinating best practices and lessons learned between projects.
- Participate in Material Review Board and Continuous Improvement Board.
- Support System Test monitoring, Test set-up conformity, and review of Test Reports and Qualification Test Reports and failure investigations reports.
- Review and approve Engineering documentation, design changes and development artifacts.
- Participate in design & development review processes covering planning, requirements, design, validation, and verification.
- Initiating, facilitating, managing, and validating the effectiveness of root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions.
- Driving Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities through to closure.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a flexible hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's STEM Degree and 2 years work experience or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - AS9100/ISO9000 certification & audit experience
- Experience with JIRA workflow management
- A working knowledge of Oracle a real plus
- Root Cause/Corrective Action methodologies.

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $68700 - $116800

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
