Job description
Dean’s Professional Services is seeking a qualified, patient-care focused Certified Medical Assistant to work at a renowned hospital in The Woodlands, TX, and Cypress, TX (must be able to float to both clinics). Candidates must have a m inimum of 2 years recent CMA experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or ER required.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas.
Assists with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes.
Also performs general administrative duties in accordance with TJC, CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures. All patient care is under the direction of a physician and within the scope of a medical assistant.
Prepares and administers medications as directed by the Physician; performs basic laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated and suture removal and dressing changes.
Performs medical histories, provides instruction to the patient regarding medications and diet, and authorizes prescription refills as directed.
Greets patients and answers phones
Prepares, cleans, and maintains exam and treatment rooms, as well as supplies and equipment.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ of recent CMA experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or ER required
Must have current BLS certification for healthcare providers through American Heart Association
Experience with Athena (EMR) preferred
Must have High School Diploma
