Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in a leadership capacity. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping work experience, with a proven track record of successfully managing accounting operations and leading a team. This role involves a combination of hands-on accounting tasks, strategic financial oversight, and leadership responsibilities.
Typical functions include:
• Train and manage bookkeepers
• Review financial statements
• Design accounting operations workflow
• Clean up old books/setup new chart of accounts
• Monthly financial closings
• Budgeting, projections and financial analysis
• Prepare financial statements for audit, review, and compilation engagements.
• General reviewing, training, and guiding account managers
Qualifications and Skills – a MUST:
• At least five years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping work experience, including monthly and yearly financial closings
• Understands accruals, deferrals and journal entries
• Understands accounting principles and the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
• Commitment to work between 30 – 40 hours per week
