POSITION TITLE: Meals on Wheels Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Food Programs Manager
HRS PER WEEK: 40 hours/week: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday typical schedule with occasional adjustments required to meet programmatic needs.
CLASS: Non-exempt SALARY: $21/hour (additional $1 bilingual differential for Spanish fluency)
BENEFITS: Eligible for FFLC-sponsored benefits (e.g. paid time off benefits such as holidays, floating days, vacation and sick). Health insurance benefits offered the first of the month after 30 days of employment; other benefits after 90-day mutual trial service period satisfactorily completed.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Meals on Wheels program coordinators are responsible for the program coordination, and client experience of the Meals on Wheels (MOW) program in Eugene. This role is a mix of direct service to older adults and persons with disabilities, delivery driving, physical labor, volunteer coordination, and administrative work. The ideal candidate will have the mental agility to frequently switch back and forth between the various aspects of the role. Successful candidates will be skilled at relationship building, comfortable with a fast-paced work environment, able to navigate constantly shifting priorities and directives, possess innovation and problem-solving skills, as well as a willingness and flexibility to pitch in and help wherever needed.

*The use of a smart phone will be necessary to meet the requirements of this position. FFLC will provide a company phone or monthly reimbursement towards a personal phone plan.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This work is performed in a variety of both indoor (office, warehouse, kitchen, industrial freezer, client’s home), outdoor, and vehicle settings. It involves interacting with a variety of people in their place of residence. This work is performed year round and requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. This role moves and lifts up to 50 pounds repeatedly, ascends stairs, enters seniors’ residences, and enters and exit their vehicle up to 25 times in a two-hour period. The work involves lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, walking, carrying, as well as, pushing and pulling carts, moving pallets, and transporting food and carts in and out of industrial freezers, as well as working at a computer, typing, answering phones, etc.
