Job Description and Duties

The incumbent works under the supervision of the HR 2 Manager, Staff Services Manager II (SSM II), of the Human Resources Branch. The Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) position is responsible for independently planning, implementing, and supervising all activities related to the Training and Development Unit at CalRecycle. Through subordinate staff, oversee and manage the development, design, and delivery of training, while following applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices. This position promotes compliance with all State mandated training, CalRecycle required training, and ethics training associated with the Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) and the Political Reform Act for the Fair Political Practices Commission.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.
