Job description
One of our automotive clients in Cambridge, ON is looking for a Maintenance Manager for their facility.
Shift - Days
Responsibilities :
Supervise a team of at least 5 Supervisors and 20 skilled trades workers.
Prior experience in stamping, welding, and paint line operations is required.
Develop employees by providing training in quality, equipment operation, safety, and other areas that enhance their performance.
Evaluate performance and assess the effectiveness of employee training, reporting findings on their annual Developmental Review.
Maintain Quality Procedures and Instructions within the department.
Oversee safety, productivity, quality, employee relations, and housekeeping in the department.
Manage Maintenance and Facilities departments, establishing and communicating priorities.
Coordinate projects with Production and Materials departments to minimize disruptions to production and shipping schedules, ensuring customer commitments are met.
Schedule and oversee all preventative maintenance work in collaboration with maintenance supervisors.
Monitor and analyze departmental metrics and data.
Conduct unscheduled inspections focused on efficiency, health and safety, housekeeping, and quality.
Lead maintenance and facilities improvement projects.
Authorize and initiate purchase orders related to maintenance and facilities.
Oversee the tool crib, managing inventory levels and flow.
Coordinate major maintenance and facility projects, including contractor procurement and management, setting timelines, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
Participate in meetings with plant management to discuss plant performance, customer concerns, production needs, preventative maintenance programs, inventory, and health and safety.
Ensure compliance with Section 27 of the OHSA.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Hold certification in Industrial Millwright/Mechanic trade, Industrial Electrician trade, or possess relevant post-secondary Technical Education and training.
Solid background in industrial maintenance involving electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical processes.
Familiarity with automatic production equipment, robotics, PLCs, and press shop operations is advantageous.
Ideally, possess three or more years of relevant maintenance supervisory or managerial experience in a manufacturing setting.
Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and experience in administering collective agreements is a valuable asset.
