Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives by promoting their independence, inclusion, and integration into the community. We offer a variety of programs and services to meet the unique needs of each individual we serve. We strive to provide person-centered care that is tailored to the individual's needs, preferences, and goals.

We are proud to be a leader in the field of disability services and to have a positive impact on the lives of the individuals and families we serve. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DSP WEEKEND COORDINATOR

As a DSP Weekend Coordinator with our nonprofit, your day is dynamic and ever-changing, full of challenges and rewards. Your primary responsibility is to provide at-home care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. In this direct support professional position, you are the lifeline for our clients and their families, ensuring that they receive the care they need when they need it. When you start your remote shift, you are able to relax in your home listening for the phone to ring. You are welcome to do whatever you want at home when the phone isn't ringing and if you don't need to fill in for someone. You could be reading, exercising, or cooking your favorite meal. But as soon as that phone rings, you are on it, ready to jump in and help.

Your first call is from another direct support professional who is unable to work their shift. You quickly get to work finding coverage or you fill in yourself to ensure that our clients receive the care they need. In this remote habitation role, you provide "person-centered" support, working with our clients to support their short and long-term goals, making sure they feel valued, respected, and heard. Throughout your shift, you continue to receive calls, each one presenting a unique challenge. You might be called upon to help a client with their daily living tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, or bathing. Or you might be asked to provide emotional support, helping them through a difficult time.

In this caregiver position, you are also responsible for sending reports to the county board or legal guardians as needed. This ensures that our clients' families are kept up to date on their progress and receive the information they need to make informed decisions about their care. At the end of your shift, you feel fulfilled and proud of the work you've done. You know that your efforts as a direct support professional have made a positive impact on the lives of our clients and their families. You look forward to another day of making a difference in the lives of others as a remote DSP Weekend Coordinator with our nonprofit!
