As the Support Counselor , you will play a crucial role in providing family-centered mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services to youth and their families. Joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, you'll deliver trauma-informed and culturally responsive support in the community, ensuring services are accessible and convenient for families.

- Facilitate connections to natural supports and community-based resources for clients and families
- Provide crisis intervention and mental health services at various locations, including client homes, schools, and other community settings
- Participate in treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when necessary
- Maintain accurate mental health notes, complete required paperwork, and track services as indicated
- Assist with planning and organizing transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings as needed
- Attend team meetings, weekly trainings, individual and group supervisions, following clinical best practices
- Participate in scheduled emergency on-call response as scheduled
- Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques when necessary
Required:
- Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree OR
- Associate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR
- High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience
- Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
- Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings as needed
- Be part of a rotating emergency pager system, scheduled with supervisor ahead of time
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Own vehicle, Valid California driver's license and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Preferred:
- Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs
- Experience providing strong behavioral interventions with youth
- Strong organizational, time management, and writing skills
- Full-time
- Mon – Fri; 9AM - 5PM
- Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Participate in On-Call Crisis Response on a rotating basis, scheduled ahead of time
- Starting at $22.66 - $25.16 per hour, actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualification
- Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
