Job Responsibilities:
- As Federal Sales Director you will be responsible for leading the company’s sales efforts with Government agencies and federal system integration partners.
- You will be the company’s key point of contact for all accounts in your territory.
- Lead technical sales activities for US Federal sales opportunities with law enforcement and intelligence agencies
- You will provide sales account management, act as a conduit of product requirements to Product Management and coordinate all pre-sales and post-sales activities relating to revenue within your territory.
- You will develop new prospects by utilizing your extensive network and/or cold calling into new customers, and work diligently to build strong, durable personal relationships with all members of the customer’s buying chain
- You will manage account relationships within existing government customers and partners, develop new revenue sources based on your past customer relationships
- You will successfully manage the customers in your territory to ensure complete customer satisfaction resulting in additional follow-on sales
- You will provide regular and accurate reporting of pipeline status to your management and to Finance
- You will work with prospects to define and negotiate commercial terms
- Solicit and provide customer feedback to internal SS8 teams
- Forecast with a high degree of accuracy through Salesforce.com
- Provide timely communication and follow-up to customers and partners, consistently meets the customers’ expectations
- Provide pertinent market and competitive information to the organization
- Deep knowledge of and experience with government entities, communications infrastructure, voice messaging and other large-scale network related applications.
- Understanding of the government procurement process
- A demonstrated ability to build strong personal relationships with customer decision makers.
- A flexible self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight from management and with minimal assistance from other corporate functions.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Intelligence. Energy.
- A high level of ethics and professionalism.
- 7+ years professional sales experience in relevant markets
- Absolute requirement: an existing contact list within Federal Government and/or Intelligence Agencies located in the region.
- A proven track record of quota achievement and demonstrated career stability.
- Security clearance will be required
- Proven success in selling large and strategic deals.
- At least 3 customer references required from Government or Agency clients.
- Deep knowledge of the business dynamics of the telecommunications market and the technologies used within it.
- Experience with SalesForce.com or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management and time management skills.
- The ability to adapt to changing requirements, multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- Exceptional presentation skills a must.
- Preferably located in the East Coast (MD, VA, DE, PA or DC)
Nice to have:
- Proven ability to aggressively find and develop new customer relationships with Federal Government and/or Intelligence agencies.
- An ability to hunt and uncover new business opportunities within governmental organizations.
- An ability to rapidly qualify new sales opportunities, with a track record of closing new deals at profitable margins.
- The ability to push through roadblocks and develop creative solutions to achieve success for the company.
