Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and insightful Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Controller to join our team. This pivotal role combines the responsibilities of a senior finance executive with the strategic involvement in guiding our company's financial future. As the cornerstone of our financial decision-making, you'll be instrumental in providing both retrospective insights and forward-looking forecasts that impact our path forward.

In this role, you'll work closely with the CEO, becoming an essential part of the executive team and directly reporting to the President & CEO. Your responsibilities will include preparing monthly financial statements, conducting detailed cost analyses across product lines, crafting budgets, and leading forecasting efforts. You'll also evaluate capital expenditures, explore new business ventures, and provide strategic support for potential acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Mastery over all financial metrics, demonstrating a deep understanding of the numbers driving our business.
Leadership of the accounting and finance functions, ensuring excellence and integrity in all financial activities.
Provision of in-depth financial analysis to support the management team and department heads, identifying opportunities for enhanced profitability and operational efficiency.
Delivery of comprehensive reporting to the CEO and stakeholders, including detailed analyses of cash flows, sales, and business performance.
Oversight of monthly closings, as well as regular financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Development and management of budgeting, financial forecasting, and operational planning processes.
Advisory role on financial matters, aiding in decision-making for current operations and future initiatives.
Establishment and maintenance of robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and financial standards.
Coordination with external auditors for the year-end audit and tax preparations.
Leadership in IT decisions and the strategic implementation of business systems.
A proactive, hands-on approach to management, coupled with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA highly preferred.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on job costing.
Familiarity with ERP system implementations is advantageous.
Exceptional proficiency in ERP systems, PC applications, and advanced Excel skills.
A strategic thinker with an operational focus, capable of shifting from detailed analyses to big-picture financial strategies.
Excellent analytical, communication, and technical skills, with a strong team orientation.
Demonstrated leadership ability, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving business transformation and growth.
High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the credibility to serve as a trusted advisor.
