As we continue to expand our global team, we are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Firmware/DSP Software Engineering Manager to join us in our journey.
Role Overview:
Bose Professional is looking for a Firmware/DSP Software Engineering Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable navigating ambiguity while moving projects forward. This person will lead a development team of talented software engineers working in a variety of embedded environments focusing on real-time audio DSP applications. Core responsibilities include project management & resource/task assignment, hiring & mentoring, and collaboration with other engineering leaders on strategic technology plans. The FW/DSP Manager must be a technically deep and hands-on manager, actively participating in design and code reviews, and occasionally writing production code to ensure the timely and quality delivery of our products.
Responsibilities:
· Manage diverse Firmware and DSP software development teams in a C++ based environment.
· Set clear direction and project goals while emphasizing best-practices to optimize reusability, scalability, performance, and robustness.
· Work in partnership with Product Management to develop detailed product/feature plans and roadmaps, working backwards from customer needs/benefits.
· Support our Program Management team in estimating projects, developing schedules, and resourcing multiple overlapping initiatives.
· Work closely with our Software Quality Assurance team to plan validation test cycles, conduct root cause analysis and resolve issues quickly, and act on Beta test & tech support feedback.
· Be a champion for technical innovation while striving for simplicity. Provide strategic oversight, architectural direction, coaching and technical mentorship for team members.
· Manage 3rd-party integration to ensure seamless interoperability of devices for our partners, ensuring high reliability and uptime.
Must have Qualifications:
· 7+ years of hands-on firmware (C++) and real-time audio DSP development experience
· 5+ years managing software development teams on DSP and/or FW projects
· Ability to clear the way for architectural conversations and conclusions with teams while providing a framework and process to effectively deploy software in an Agile/Scrum manner
· Experience with Jenkins, GitHub and Jira
· Strong written & verbal communication skills; ability to clearly present technical topics to a diverse set of stakeholders across the organization
Great to have Qualifications:
· Experience building AI/ML solutions for audio products
· Experience with audio networking technologies and protocols (VoIP, AES67, AVB, Dante)
Location:
This role will be based in our Bose Professional headquarters in Framingham, Massachusetts. We currently have a hybrid work environment, working in-office 3-days a week.
