Job description
Southeastern Equipment is looking for a data driven, analytically minded Director of Procurement to be responsible for planning, purchasing and negotiations. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable analyzing large amounts of data to support the decision making process.

Primary Responsibility Summary
The Director of Procurement oversees the procedures related to inventory and resource acquisition from planning to execution while adhering to standards and company policies. The Director of Procurement manages vendor relationships and maintains strong working relationships with vendors. The Director of Procurement negotiates advantages terms and discounts for the company, plans equipment inventory for sales and rental, orders equipment, completes large bids/sales, provides pricing support for sales, and manages the efficient movement of equipment. Director of Procurement will be responsible for government bidding process and contract management.

Lead, Manage, and Accountability (LMA)
- Enforces and follows all policies and procedures.
- Fosters interdepartmental and interbranch communications.
- Leading effective routine meetings per company guidelines.
- Ensuring that all associates obtain and complete the required training.
- Managing employee time and HR needs.
- Follow EOS model where applicable.
Vendor and Contract Management
- Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs.
- Initial selection and contract negotiation with vendors.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with vendors.
- Escalating issues to vendors for products or services provided by vendors.
- Organize and maintain record of contracts for all vendors.
- Manages national account equipment programs.
Equipment Inventory Management
- Inventory Forecasting, Planning, Purchasing, Reductions, Pricing Support.
- Sourcing for Special Deals, bids and major unit transactions.
- Managing trade-in inventory levels and processes.
- Pre-owned equipment sourcing strategy and execution.
- Update estimated arrivals and assist in sales planning to manage fluctuations.
- Balancing equipment by region / location.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
- Training and certifications in supply chain management, procurement strategy and negotiations a plus.
- Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong background in contract negotiations.
- At least 10 years of experience in contract negotiation, equipment planning or related work.
- Government sales experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This role requires sitting for extended periods of time and working at a desk. The individual will need to operate a computer using the keyboard and mouse. Minimal lifting is required above moving office related items and lifting a laptop/luggage to be able to travel as needed. The role has high mental demands which requires strong comprehension, reasoning, decision making, math and computer software fluency. Travel in a car for 2-6 hours at a time or air travel for up to 8 hours at a time may be required.
