Position overview

Are you interested in learning more about Procurement in the world leading industrial coating resins company? We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join our team. You will primarily work closely with external suppliers to source raw materials, and negotiate supply contracts. Establishing and execution of source strategy is involved. You will work closely with internal colleagues in planning and supply chain to assure on-time delivery of raw materials and control of inventory at proper level. You will also be working with other procurement people within allnex and managing some major distributors which we are using.

Responsibilities

 

Procurement Processes 
• MOC management for those raw materials which have been assigned to sourcing specialist. Gathering required information from suppliers and launch of MOC(s). MOC to be managed for direct materials, and new suppliers. Tracking MOC approvals and prompting people for approvals or getting data to answer questions. 
• Quarterly review of raw materials being bought through distributors and whether direct purchases from manufacturers pursued. Evaluate buying in bulk quantities then using packing facilities to break down bulk into tote or drum quantities.
• Power user for Ariba – Direct raw materials. Assist team members as needed. 
• Additional procurement process development work as needed (Knowliah). 


Direct Raw Material Sourcing Accountabilities
• Implement the sourcing strategy, including development and execution of RFP’s, conducting negotiations with supplier(s), and ongoing supplier management. Use of Ariba on a quarterly basis for conduction RFP/RFQ’s as appropriate.
• Achieve raw material budgeted spend and key cost savings & cash flow targets.
• Negotiate raw material pricing for both existing and new raw materials. 
• Development and maintenance of key raw material supplier relationship for multiple sites. Manage 2 major raw material distributor(s) spend and supplier relationship. Work with minor distributors for those raw materials assigned to sourcing manager.
• Negotiation of raw materials supply contracts (1-3 year agreements).
• Document single sourced and high risk supplier list and develop plans for multiple supplier approvals.
• Identify and build working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Complete raw material pricing variance reports on monthly basis. Responsible for forecast accuracy on the raw material variance report.
• Insure security of supply for raw materials. 
• Timely support and updates to BU on key RM trends and contracts
• Follow procurement process (examples pricing tickets, vendor set-up, raw material volume placement by supplier, others)

Financial:
• Realize savings through applying sourcing strategies, and implementing Total cost of Ownership (TOC) sourcing practices as related to raw materials.
• Responsible for delivering the U.S. cost savings targets. 

 

Required skills and experience

• At least 2 years of experience in procurement, manufacturing, or business. Internship experience being considered. 

• Experience with Microsoft Software or SAP is desirable.

• Fluent English required. 

• Good comunication and time managment skills. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, or supply chain/logistics.
