Dr. Jillian Simon’s laboratory, based within the Aging + Cardiovascular Discovery Center at Temple University, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of cardiovascular medicine. The successful candidate will broadly contribute to the scientific endeavors of our diverse and innovative lab, as well as play a key role in advancing our research related to dysregulation of inter-organelle communication during ischemic heart disease. Other responsibilities/duties of the position:

• Project planning and organization, in conjunction with the PI.
• Independent research study design, experimentation, data analysis and results interpretation.
• Development, adaptation and sharing of the most appropriate methodologies/protocols for testing your hypotheses, and identification of suitable alternatives if technical problems arise.
• Preparation of manuscripts for publication, as well as presenting research at local and national meetings and departmental seminar series.
• Attending and contributing to the group’s lab meetings by regularly sharing project progress and drawbacks.
• Contributing to the maintenance of mouse colonies, as well as genotyping of mice when needed.
