Job description
Selectek has an immediate need for a AutoCAD  Drafter  to work in the canopy and cover industry. This role will work to create shop drawings of aluminum components and releasing parts for fabrication. Candidates must be able to read construction documents/blueprints to be successful at this job. Ideally as one learns the product line and role more this position will take on more responsibilities and work closely with clients to ensure custom designs for products are met. The work can be for metal panels, canopies, curtain wall work or other similar designs. This Drafter will take the end clients existing construction documents and making any mark ups/changes to the documents for our client’s product. Once completed, the document will be sent to the end client for review and when returned the drafter will make any requested adjustment before the final fabrication document is created. Required: 3+ years of experience creating shop drawings or fabrication drawings for the aluminum extrusion industry, or extensive sheet metal shop drawing experience High Level of AutoCAD Proficiency Ability to read construction documents/blueprints Preferred: 3D CAD knowledge (inventor preferred) Wants someone who has created shop drawings for a fabrication shop or fabrication drawings Background as a fabrication detailer who has experience releasing parts for fabrication to the shops and construction drawings Job Order Details: Candidates will be responsible for taking the client existing basic construction documents and working with the scope of work defined for those documents to create the shop & Fabrication drawings that will be used in house and released to the shop. Candidates will work closely with other Engineers and detailers to ensure the job is completed correctly. They will do mark ups and create the shop drawings themselves using AutoCAD Sponsorship:  No Pay Range:  $25/hour -$30/hour ($52,000 - $63,000 annual salary) Term of assignment:  6 month contract to hire Pay Method When Direct:  Hourly eligible for OT pay at time and a half Location of job:  Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Hours & Shift:  8-hour day; start time between 7AM – 8AM Work From Home:  This will depend on the person and their ability level. The first several months will likely all be in the office to learn and train. Working Remote: No Overtime Expected:  None likely on contract but once perm, those opportunities will come and they get time and a half for OT.
