Field Service Technicians play a crucial role in providing mechanical and technical support for processing and packaging equipment at customer facilities, with an unwavering focus on delivering exceptional service. Travel :
This is an exciting opportunity that involves frequent travel and overnight stays, with a primary focus on delivering exceptional customer service in specific regions. Our technicians will have the chance to experience air and ground transportation, with all travel arrangements taken care of. Flexibility is key in this role, as you'll need to accommodate the schedules of both internal and external customers, including the willingness to work outside of regular business hours and occasionally on weekends. Additionally, you may be required to work ten consecutive days followed by four days off, with this schedule potentially starting on any day of the week. Rest assured, you'll always be ready to travel at short notice as customer demands arise, ensuring prompt and responsive service delivery at all times.
Essential Qualifications:
- Troubleshooting and Equipment Installation: Successfully diagnose and install cutting-edge, customized packaging and processing equipment at client sites, while ensuring adherence to customer specifications and our company's high standards.
- Efficient Repair Services: Promptly and skillfully repair equipment to meet customer requirements, addressing complex challenges in mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and robotics to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Effective Customer Communication: Act as a vital communication bridge between customers and our client, ensuring the seamless delivery of our services. Keep the regional scheduler well-informed about ongoing service efforts and maintain open channels of communication with customers, responding promptly to any concerns or inquiries.
- Job Management Responsibilities: Maintain regular contact with the scheduler, providing updates on the status of current assignments and receiving new tasks. Execute work on equipment with minimal supervision, upholding high quality and productivity by actively listening, asking pertinent questions, and completing assignments effectively.
- Travel Coordination and Planning: Utilize provided tools to consistently make travel arrangements in line with company policies, prioritizing cost-effectiveness and time efficiency. Keep the service team members and customers well-informed about scheduled visit arrival times, including arrangements for accommodations, transportation, and flights.
- Customer Training and Support: Conduct comprehensive training sessions for customers on equipment safety, maintenance procedures, and parts ordering. Provide customers with the contact information of our service team for future service and parts needs, ensuring their comfort and familiarity with operational and safety protocols.
- Documentation and Reporting Duties: Thoroughly complete service documentation for all repairs conducted during service calls and promptly submit associated trip expenses. Ensure all reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted within 24 hours of completing the job, including weekly expense reports and timesheets. Manage all expenses incurred in a cost-effective manner.
Requirements
- Education: We highly prefer candidates with an Associate degree or equivalent technical school diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Field Service Experience: To excel in this role, you must have demonstrated experience traveling as a field service technician or in a similar capacity. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of efficiently and effectively performing installations and troubleshooting tasks.
- Electrical Knowledge: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of electrical principles, including Ohm's Law. Additionally, proficiency in using a multimeter and interpreting blueprints and circuit diagrams is necessary to successfully troubleshoot complex machinery.
- Mechanical Knowledge: A solid mechanical background is essential. You should be able to accurately interpret drawings, schematics, and manuals to identify issues. Moreover, experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems and conducting mechanical repairs is important. Strong mathematical abilities are also desired.
- Independent Work: The ability to work independently in unsupervised settings is crucial for this role. We expect you to efficiently coordinate travel details, communicate effectively with team members, and provide professional and polished customer support throughout service engagements.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and machine shop skills is required. You must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude and be able to prevent malfunctions through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.
