Position Summary/Description:

This position will serve as a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator within the The Center for Aging and Health which will be focused on Dr. John Batsis research projects and assist with the oversight and project management of multiple federal awards. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, conduct, and evaluation of multi-faceted clinical research protocols, including study execution, developing strategies and solutions to improve study processes and execution, providing reviews of other team members' work product, and serving as mentor and subject matter expert.

This position will also plan, organize, collect, record, and present data information within defined research parameters and develop methods to include procedures, implementation, and evaluation standards of the research data. They will help enter data electronically and/or manually for the study to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the data collection. Data must be entered in a timely manner to comply with study procedures and protocol.

Prepare IRB application/consent forms for initial submission; ensure consent forms meet all HIPM and regulatory requirements; ensure annual IRB approval; ensure submission to IRB of ongoing protocol amendments and adverse events/safety issues; respond to IRB concerns on behalf of Pl; ensure all regulatory requirements are completed/submitted per FDA regulations; and assist in preparation of new data use agreements, renewals, and data purchasing requests for submission to University of North Carolina Office of Sponsored Research, NC TraCS, or other regulatory bodies.

Use effective verbal and written communication to accomplish tasks. Contribute to the overall mission of the work unit through active participation and discussion with management, co-workers and subordinates. Review and complete the annual HIPAA training program for UNC School of Medicine per the HIPAA Website ( Review and complete all pertinent EHS modules that are specific to his/her job ( Review and complete any other required regulatory trainings.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's level with at least five years of project management experience. A Master's degree in research, statistical, or public health related field will be considered. Research experience at an academic medical center with overseeing human subjects studies.
