Overview General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems are currently seeking a Contract Specialist 1 for our Niceville, Florida location. This individual will participate in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products, or services. They will evaluate contract compliance and advise others on contractual rights and obligations. Requests or approve amendments to contract terms or contract extensions. Prepare bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements; negotiate contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids.
Responsibilities - Prepares, examines, negotiates and revises contracts.
- Ensures contracts are consistent with management's goals, policies, and procedures.
- Handles the acquisition, distribution, and store of purchases.
- Assures that all clarifications and amendments of negotiations are incorporated into the final contract.
- Generates, maintains, and audits a central contract-resource file.
- Ensures that necessary procedural controls exist.
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a job discipline
- Performs routine assignments using existing procedures
- Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles
- Entry level to a professional career progression
Qualifications - Required Education: Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
- Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 0-3 years experience relevant to the positions functional area
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Organizational skills. Oral and written communication skills. Detail oriented. Leadership skills.
- Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
