Acute Care Surgeon – Full-time
Luminis Health is a growing system with two hospitals in the Annapolis and Lanham areas of Maryland. We are recruiting for a full-time Acute Care Surgery to join our busy team. Annapolis is a beautiful community on the Chesapeake Bay, which serves as the state’s capital. It is located a short 30 min drive from Washington DC and Baltimore, with all the important amenities available locally.
The Acute Care Surgery team at Luminis Health provides 24/7 emergency general surgery coverage to both of our busy hospitals, Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctor’s Community Medical Center. In addition, our team members also provide critical care staffing, wound care, and are adding an elective surgery practice. In addition to providing emergency general surgery care, additional interest/experience in either critical care medicine or elective general surgery are of benefit for this position.
The Department of Surgery at Luminis Health is seeking to add to our Acute Care Surgery team for both Anne Arundel Medical Center and Doctors Community Hospital.
• Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD
o High-volume emergency general surgery service
o 385 bed hospital
• Doctor’s Community Medical Center in Lanham, MD
o Experiencing significant year over year growth in emergency general surgery volume
o 210 bed hospital
Qualifications:
• Strong clinical background with interest in teaching residents and other learners.
• Additional focus on clinical research and quality/outcome improvement is preferred.
• Acute Care Surgery (ACS) provides 24 hr coverage to the hospital with regular resident coverage.
• EPIC experience, a plus
Requirements:
• Board certified/board eligible in general surgery
• All members of the ACS team will be working at both locations.
• Interest/experience in partial elective surgery practice is a plus
• Graduating fellows are welcome to apply.
• Applicants should be comfortable with all common general surgery procedures, and it is preferred to have ability for upper and lower endoscopy procedures.
• ICU time may also be available for interested and qualified candidates.
