TEMP POSITION TITLE: Copywriter
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Copywriter will help to create and reinforce the brand voice and narrative. Works with marketing, merchandising, strategy, CRM, and production departments to prepare effective, brand-appropriate copy for digital platforms including email, website, mobile, SMS and affiliate. Works to ensure a cohesive, coherent, relevant voice for the brand across all marketing channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and write on-brand copy for marketing deliverables, including but not limited to: product naming and descriptive copy for email, site, mobile and push notifications, blog posts, social media, and other special projects as needed.
- Work with the Creative Director and Editor to ensure that copy is error-free in content, context and brand-appropriateness.
- Develop a point of view appropriate for each season’s concept.
- Participate in hindsight discussions and prepare improvement ideas.
- Strong influence on ensuring the correctness and appropriateness of product information and marketing copy.
- Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing or related field.
- 2+ years of building stories in agencies or in-house-related experience preferred.
- Consumer experience writing digital, print, direct mail, and collateral. Business-to-business experience is a plus.
- 1-2+ years’ experience in e-commerce, retail, advertising, public relations or marketing with a strong emphasis on copywriting and editing.
- Outstanding oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of fashion and pop culture lexicons.
- Web-savvy writing ability and strong knowledge of e-tailing, online research and email marketing trends.
