Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, and working with time-critical, high-intensity deadlines and a high degree of flexibility based on a wide variety of transactions assigned, the Senior Contract & Grant Officer - Level 1 is independently responsible for a full range of duties supporting Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and Unfunded agreements with varying risk and complexity; works closely with other compliance offices, such as Export Control and the Privacy Office. MTAs are required to be negotiated and executed for the transfer of tangible research materials from UC San Diego to other entities, and from other entitles to UC San Diego. Unfunded agreements are comprised of a wide variety of agreements required for UC San Diego Principal Investigators and their research teams to interact and collaborate with interested external parties, usually for-profit entities, and generally, no funding is exchanged.
The Senior C&G Officer will be responsible for the following:
Non-Industry Material Transfer Agreements:
~Analysis, negotiation, and execution of low, medium, and mid-level categories and recommendation of the level of complexity and risk of incoming and some outgoing Material Transfer Agreements
~Evaluate MTA's requests to determine the level (low, medium, mid-level and high), and ensure such is assigned to the appropriate level C&G Office.
Unfunded Agreements:
~Review, analyze and negotiate low to mid-level
