Hybrid role 1-2 days in the office
A well-established and respected nonprofit in the SFV seeks a Controller. Individual will lead the finance team with end-of-year close as well as assist and lead the team with end-of-month closeouts. Will assist the CPA firm with the financial audit. Must be familiar with large nonprofit financials including standard financial accounting and grants management.
Responsibilities
- Assist and lead the finance team with end-of-year-close out actions
- Ability to assist and lead the finance team with end-of-month close-outs
- Assist CPA firm with financial audit
- Work directly with Finance Management to provide audit reports
- Utilize strong analytical, technology, communication, organizational, interpersonal skills to drive and manage to results
- Supervise staff by evaluating, providing direction, and verifying accuracy
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Grant Management
- Government Contracts
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit management accounting operations
- Large Nonprofit experience required with hands-on knowledge of full financial close processes
- Solid GAAP accounting and technical knowledge
- Strong leadership skills and willingness to take ownership
- Strong process management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, critical/analytical thinking, and computer skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of senior leadership
