POSITION: Lifeguard
II. DEPARTMENT: Aquatics
III. JOB SUMMARY: Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of Club members and guests by providing a safe and clean environment while preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are also responsible for maintaining a positive member experience by delivering exceptional customer service.
IV. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lifeguards must always be ready for any potential risk in the water. Employees are expected to be equipped to react immediately when the occasion arises. You must be prepared to respond to an immediate situation in the pool.
- Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and maintenance of the pool during the scheduled working hours. Each guard will position himself/herself while on duty to observe the pool/deck/attractions while maintaining maximum vision of swimmers in their zone.
- Lifeguards are expected to maintain a high standard of customer service to all members and their guests.
- Lifeguards are responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the general pool area & bathrooms. Lifeguards are expected to perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Each employee is expected always to conduct himself/herself professionally, and be courteous and respectful to Club members and fellow staff members. Report any problems to the Pool Manager.
V. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be at least 16 years of age by start date.
- Demonstrates leadership, customer service, and decision-making skills.
- Attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or the process of unsafe behaviors.
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Administer First Aid, CPR, and other emergency safety procedures, as required.
- Proficient swimming ability.
VI. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid, and CPR, AED for the Professional Rescuer. If you do not hold a current certification then that will be provided for you once you become an employee.

- 4-hour shift
- 5-hour shift
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
