Position Mission

Under the direction of the Director and reporting directly to a Manager/Sr. Manager, the (Sr.) Event Specialist will oversee formative and inspiring care of special guests at events and conferences, as well as offer elite event management and planning for that audience. This individual will help to fulfill the responsibilities of the core event functions for each event managed including invitation, registration, program, logistics, hospitality, and follow-up. The (Sr.) Event Specialist will work directly with the event host or firm to ensure the success of the event. The (Sr.) Event Specialist will be responsible to ensure timely follow-up and stewardship activities after the event, as well.

Position Responsibilities

• Share new initiatives that can improve our current event management strategies. (Propose two annually to improve events and initiatives)
• Create & manage Mission Development Events dashboard for all assigned events.
• The (Sr.) Event Specialist will be responsible for a set number of events and activities each year. These could include any of the following:
  • SEEK (10 Days onsite at event)
  • 1-2 Pilgrimages Annually (Camino, Holy Land, Medjugorje, Rome, other)
  • Explore New Opportunities: Mission Trips & Retreats for supporters
  • 1-2 One-Off Events (Exp: “SEEK First” Event, event hosted in a benefactor home, etc.)
  • 1-2 FOCUS Experiences (Exp: Sebonack, Montana, other)
• Ensure creation and delivery of a physical/digital invitations or one-pagers by giving advanced notice to the creative team for deliverables
• Develop event program and design
• Event logistics and hospitality
• Proactive ownership of events and stewardship
• Mission Partner Development
  • Build and maintain a monthly support team.
  • Ongoing cultivation and stewardship

Qualifications

• Excellent organization skills
• Articulate and confident
• Hospitality, business, communications, or management background
• Undergraduate degree
• Strong communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, we anticipate paying $50,000 - $60,000/year. (This role is also eligible for bonus pay.) This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.

Personal Mission Partner Development (MPD) is one way in which the FOCUS Mission Foundation invites others to be on mission with us through the gift of their financial support. In this position, the Sr. Event Specialist will be expected to fundraise a minimum of $3,260 per month to support their work with the FOCUS Mission Foundation.
