Summary:
Are you a research enthusiast with a curiosity for media? The Entertainment Forecasting team sits in the middle of business analytics and strategy by forecasting viewership across Primetime, Cable, News and Syndicated platforms and currencies (i.e.- linear and digital) and is currently looking for a curious and innovative Forecasting Analyst to join the team! In this role, you will provide the business with targets in support of monetization, strategic consultation around programming, new measurement, and risk planning. The team works across many departments, providing a bird's eye view into business priorities. As the Forecasting Analyst, you who will aid in the creation of strategic Linear forecasts across ABC and the cable networks!
This includes reviewing Nielsen viewership and any changes across the TV landscape to help make decisions across multiple teams including sales, finance, and scheduling.
Curiosity for solving problems and learning new abilities is a plus in this ever-shifting media landscape. As the Analyst you will be exposed to numerous strategic projects that will help navigate the Linear and overall media business at Disney.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze Linear trends, evaluate methodology changes and alternative currencies to estimate impact on the Disney Media business
- Collaborate with analytics teams to align internal forecasts with machine learning as well as building more accuracy and scenario planning forecasts
- Partner with key executives of the business including finance, sales, and scheduling
- Examine methodology changes by Nielsen (i.e., Big Data) and other providers to alert key partners to potential trend changes.
- Review content consumption and viewership for multiple networks
- Work on in-season scenario planning and landscape forecasts
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power point.
- Curiosity about the media landscape and TV programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in tools such as Tableau and the Nielsen media tools (including NNTV and NPOWER)
Education:
- Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $68,300 to $93,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
