Our San Francisco office has an opening for a self-motivated engineering intern with 0 to 3 years of experience to work on projects related to water reuse, wastewater treatment, conveyance infrastructure, and drinking water. Detailed Description: - Work closely with project managers and other team members to execute work involving conventional types of civil, environmental, and/or mechanical engineering principals and other related activities for water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects.
- Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects.
- Conduct field work as necessary for projects.
- Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers).
- Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater conveyance and treatment systems, pumping systems, and piping systems.
- Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
- Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
- Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget.
- Travel / working in field offices is expected.
Desired Skills and Experience: - Junior or Senior student attending university working on obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related construction/engineering field required; graduate students may also be considered.
- Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team environment
- Strong technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts
- Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under deadlines
- Desire to work on construction projects related to drinking water, water reuse, stormwater, wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.
- Proficiency in standard software including MS Office, Outlook, Bluebeam
- Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems
- EIT preferred, if working towards or completed an engineering degree
- Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and on large, coordinated teams
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location C: $21.40 $29.40
