Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer Western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world’s best Western boots, apparel, and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and Western enthusiasts alike.
Tecovas is looking for a Production Artist to assist our creative team in developing, managing, and delivering assets in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial-driven environment. Reporting directly to the Senior Design Director, you will collaborate with the creative team to provide production-ready assets for print and digital use.
This is a hybrid role with the ability to work remotely but the candidate must reside in Austin, TX.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, photographers, and digital product team to provide production-ready assets for print and digital use including collecting, formatting, processing, checking, and uploading files with varying levels of involvement up and downstream in the creative process.
- Prepare e-commerce photography for desktop and mobile applications.
- Assist photographer and team with image retouching, clipping paths, and additional image manipulation.
- Assist with versioning of assets for multiple marketing channels or A/B testing purposes.
- Package and preflight files for release to printers, internal teams, and media partners.
- Troubleshoot asset problems as they arise with the creative team, vendors, and media contacts.
- Work within established development timelines to ensure all assets are provided on time.
- There will be opportunities to design assets from scratch or templates with oversight from our creative team members.
- Assist the team in optimizing overall workflow and managing the asset library.
- Assist with cataloging, tagging, and serving as a point of reference for visual assets.
Experience we’re looking for:
- 3-6 years of experience in graphic design, print and digital production, or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment such as a studio environment, high-growth brand, or agency.
- Bachelor’s degree in design or other related fields is a plus
- Outstanding portfolio and experience that demonstrates clear knowledge of all the required skills
- Strong typography, color theory, layout skills, strict attention to detail, and outstanding organizational skills are key.
- Experience with digital content for websites, social media, online advertising, and email campaigns is required.
- Digital imaging and retouching skills are a big plus
- Adept with software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Google Suite, Dropbox, and digital asset management platforms.
- Solid knowledge of printing processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
