Job description
Women's Physicians & Surgeons, an Axia Women's Health care center, is seeking a Womens Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) experienced in gynecological procedures for our practice in Freehold and Manalapan, NJ 30-40 hours/week.
May consider candidates looking for part time (24 hours/week).
Summary:
The Womens Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Other job duties include but are not limited to:
- Practices under the standard procedure established for the APP role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
- Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals, Endometrial Biopsies, and works with Pessaries. May perform Colposcopies.
- Conducts age-appropriate gynecological assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
- Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
- Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
- Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
- Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
- Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
Qualifications:
- Must have an active, unrestricted New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) license, New Jersey CDS, & DEA.
- Minimum of 1 year of gynecology experience (outside of clinical rotation) required.
- Experience performing both IUD & Nexplanon insertions and removals and performing endometrial biopsies.
- Experience with Colposcopies highly preferred or willingness to learn.
- Eligible to participate in state programs including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (EMR) helpful but not required.
