Job description
Rockport Healthcare Services is currently seeking a full time skilled, reliableĀ HR Generalist to provide support, training, and coaching in any human resources related matters for our various healthcare facilities throughout the state of CA.

What You Will Do:
- Stay updated and have solid knowledge of Federal, California, and local legislation and compliance, wage and hour law; conflict resolution best practices; performance evaluation best practices; proper way to conduct investigations and etc.
- Serve as the principal liaison for multi-location management and employees regarding HR related matters.
- Provide human resources services regarding employee relations and employee grievances to include practical experience managing the claims from initiation to disposition and give final recommendations to managers/owners/stakeholders.
- Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.
- Guide clients through compensation management, records management, employee relations and retention strategies, leaves management (FMLA/CFRA/DFEH/ADA) and on/off-boarding of employees.
- Manage litigations/depositions and work with state agencies such as EEOC, ADA, DFEH regarding any claims.
- Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Employee relations (benefits administration, oversee various leaves of absence, initiate disciplinary action(s), etc.
- Personnel file and records maintenance; use of timekeeping system; payroll; new hire orientation(s); update and present changes to HR policies and procedures; employee performance reviews.
- Analyze wage/salary reports and formulate competitive compensation plan.
- Work closely with Modern HRs leadership team regarding the execution of any company policies and procedures.
- Travel to different site locations is required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by Director/Executive Team.
What You'll Bring:
- Employee Relations heavy experience required
- Investigation experience highly preferred
- Skilled Nursing experience a plus
- At least 4 years of experience as HR Generalist; experience with employee relations, performance management, terminations, investigations, litigations, and disciplinary counseling required. HR Managers preferred.
- Experience working in Healthcare highly preferred.
- Ability to work out of office and occasional travel to different work-site locations.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and other related HRIS software required. Experience working with iSolved HRIS preferred.
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
