Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Network Engineer to join our IT team. As an IT Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support business operations and provide technical expertise in network-related projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices.
- Perform network capacity planning, ensuring scalability and performance to meet current and future business requirements.
- Configure and optimize network protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, performing analysis to identify and resolve problems promptly.
- Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access control policies.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with systems, applications, and services.
- Participate in network-related projects, providing technical expertise, conducting research, and making recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct network assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending solutions to enhance network security.
- Create and maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and technologies.
- Solid knowledge of network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
- Experience with network monitoring tools, performance analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
- Familiarity with network security concepts and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve network issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with network design and implementation, including capacity planning and network segmentation.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with ticketing or CRM systems to manage customer interactions and track support requests.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when dealing with customers, ensuring their satisfaction with the support provided.
- Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays to provide extended support or participate in an on-call rotation.
