Job description

Maurer & Scott, Inc. is a premier Drill and Blast company that provides explosives sales and services to the mining and construction industries. We support organizations in PA, NY, NJ, DE and WV. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work closely with our Technical Services team in order to provide accurate and precise data to our Blasting crews and mining customers. Daily work assignments will take place at various customer locations working on mine property. The remainder of work will involve processing field data.

Responsibilities:

• Bore-tracking drill bore holes to ensure accuracy and detect any deviation from design.
• Utilize drones, lasers and cameras to design blast patterns and ensure accuracy.
• 3D volumetric surveying of mine/quarry stockpiles for inventory.
• Use drone technology to video blasts, model, develop and map and develop mine areas.
• Assist in the loading of explosives on blast patterns and monitor events with seismographs.
• AutoCAD experience is helpful.
• Plan the sequence of blasting based on operational needs and bench geometry.
• Communicate and coordinate site development and other bench prep work.
• Work with drillers to collect samples from production blast holes.
• Update mine models in AutoCAD Civil3D after each blast.
• Survey active area of the pit quarterly using Mavic 3E drone and DroneDeploy flight planning software.
