The Division of Family and Community Services has an exciting opportunity for a Clinician to join the division's Developmental Disabilities Program. This position is located at Central Office in downtown Boise, and will serve Ada, Canyon, Elmore, and Gem counties. The Clinician will work in Idaho's START Program, a community-based initiative that works to strengthen service outcomes for children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and mental health needs (IDD/MH). The START Program is a person-centered approach that employs crisis planning, positive psychology and other evidence-based practices. We are seeking applicants who have experience working with people with IDD/MH and their families utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach. This position must be able to work in the office on a regular basis; some teleworking will be possible.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Maintains an active caseload of individuals referred for START services.
• Completes referrals for START services as needed, including screening for enrollment in START.
• Ensures the coordination of support meetings and crisis plan development for individuals enrolled in START; provides outreach visits to the individual in a variety of settings.
• Participates in and successfully completes the START Coordinator certification training within 12 months of hire.
• Develops comprehensive service evaluations, cross systems crisis prevention and intervention plans, intake/assessments, admission/discharge summaries, in-patient hospital admissions, and any other applicable documentation of services provided.
• Completes all required data entry expectations within set time frames.
• Uses ecomaps as part of systemic analysis and provide consultation to systems/teams as needed using best practices.
• Utilizes START Action Plan for planning and strategizing.
• Develops materials and presents at Clinical Education Team meetings as assigned by the director; participates in the Center for Start Services National Network.
• Provides on call support on a rotational basis as part of a START team.
• Maintains relationships with community partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. • Requires a Master's degree, or higher, in social work, psychology, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field (with an emphasis on providing clinical-level human services).
• Idaho requires licensure for individuals who possess a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling: Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Pastoral Counselors (LPAS), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC), and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (LMFT). Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

• Experience and clinical training in mental health and developmental disabilities. Typically gained by at least five years of professional experience working with people who have IDD and mental health needs.
• Experience and ability to work with complex systems. Typically gained by at least one year of professional experience working on a team with families, providers and community members.
• Experience working independently while demonstrating organization and strong communication and writing skills. Typically gained by at least two years of professional experience where job duties included providing trainings, speaking in groups and responsibility for maintaining documentation.
• Good knowledge of mental health and developmental disability social services/support services. Typically gained by at least one year of related professional experience that required knowledge of available resources and services.
