POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst position is key to MPLX's financial forecasting and budgeting success. The primary purpose of the Senior Financial Analyst is to support the activities of the Business Planning and Analysis team and assist other departments such as Business Development, Corporate Development, and Accounting on an ad-hoc basis. The primary responsibility involves forecasting and budgeting gas volumes. The ideal candidate will be experienced in presenting to all organizational levels, designing charts and reports for effective data representation, and have strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
High visibility role responsible for presenting quarterly long-range volume presentations to the Executive Team, Business Development, and other key members of management.
Prepare, review, and publish quarterly long-range volume forecasts using actual performance, previous estimates, and current estimates received from various internal and external sources.
Develop an expert-level understanding of the Southwest and Northwest Volume models.
Monitor, track, and report gathered, processed, and fractionated volume budgets to actuals and forecast to actuals, and provide detailed commentary for variance explanations.
Compile, analyze, and report monthly volume production forecasts.
Collaborate with other departments, including Accounting, Business Development, Corporate Development, and Operations, to gather volume and other project information to maintain the accuracy of the production schedules of the producer customers.
Develop and maintain reports to provide gas and liquid volume information and analysis to various departments, including the Executive Team, Accounting, Business Development, Corporate Development, and Investor Relations.
Ensure all proposed volume forecast adjustments align with associated capital spend requirements.
Maintain and increase knowledge in the finance discipline, the business, and the energy industry.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required. Majors in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3-years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
Experience and proficiency in creating and presenting content to senior leaders is preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with advanced skills in creating data visualization charts.
Experience with Hyperion SmartView and Power BI or Power Query is a plus.
