Job Description
Ofinno is looking for an HR Manager/People Operations Coordinator to support the Operations Team as we continue to grow. Our Operations Team manages employees at every step of the employee life cycle. The HR Manager/People Operations Coordinator will help ensure that our ongoing people operations administration is performed at the highest level. This position is based in Reston, VA.
Responsibilities will involve:
- Own employment-related changes including new hire paperwork (I-9s), background checks, verification of employment, employee records.
- Maintain employee records while interfacing with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) partner and benefit management.
- Oversee recruitment of new employees and scheduling interviews.
- Serve as initial point of contact for first tier HR questions on topics including benefits, visas, onboarding, and new hires.
- Administer HR processes including visas, performance management, and compliance processes.
- Optimize our people operation and automate processes whenever possible.
- Ensure all HR practices comply with legal requirements and continually adapt to legislative changes, staying current on employment laws.
- Bring an ownership mentality to all you do–always be thinking about how we can best enable our team to do the best work of their lives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a tech or startup environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR administration, employee relations, and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly proactive and able to identify and address HR needs and opportunities.
- Capable of working autonomously, managing responsibilities effectively while also collaborating with the team and relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development in HR.
- Experience with various employment-based Immigration visas is preferred.
- Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. HR certifications (e.g. PHR, SHPR-CP) are a plus.
