Job description
Job Summary:
Senior Helpers, a leading provider of high-quality in-home care for seniors, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Overnight Caregiver to join our team at our Lee's Summit location. The Overnight Caregiver will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our elderly clients during overnight shifts, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This is a full-time, hourly position in the healthcare/medical field and is an individual contributor role.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $15 to $18 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition, the Overnight Caregiver is eligible for paid time off, mileage re-imbursement, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overnight care and assistance to elderly clients, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Medication reminders according to prescribed schedules and instructions
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate parties
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and dishes
- Prepare and serve meals for clients as needed
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients
- Follow all care plans and instructions provided by the client's case manager
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a caregiving or healthcare role
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist clients with mobility
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor
- Willingness to work overnight shifts and weekends as needed
