Handyman / Maintenance Tech

Job description

City Wide Facility Solutions is growing and needs to add more Maintenance Techs/Handymen to handle general facility repairs, preventive maintenance, and minor construction projects at City Wide managed buildings throughout Central Maryland.

Responsibilities - just a partial list:

• Perform maintenance and light repairs
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
• Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets, shelves)
• Repair equipment or appliances

• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
• Install appliances and equipment

• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance

• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. and finish painting
• Replace light fixtures and / or ballasts; other minor electrical work
• Drywall repair
• Furniture assembly

Requirements

• Proven experience as handyman/Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
• Basic math skills
• Good communication ability
• Well-organized and good at problem-solving
• Attention to detail
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)

• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulk guns etc.)
• Must possess vehicle, basic hand and power tools
