Puerto Rican Bakery & Café has an immediate opening for an experienced, energetic, self-motivated, Baker/Cake Decorator/Pastry Maker to join its team. As a small, growing company we seek individuals who are excited to develop and exercise their skills while making delicious desserts, cakes and breads. At PRBC, we create specialty cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, pastries, and breads. We produce high quality products on a quick turnaround for our customers. The ideal candidate must be productive, organized, and able to work neatly and efficiently. Must also be able to follow and execute specialty cake orders. Person should present a positive attitude and work effectively in our team environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for overseeing the quality and inventory of all finished goods, ensuring proper consistency and taste.
• Experience in all aspects of decorating, from simple style decorated cakes to more elaborate and stacked wedding and celebration cakes.
• Weigh and measure ingredients; mix and blend batters.
• Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, or other products.
• Prepare pastries and desserts according to recipes
• Basting, piping and decorating various cake styles with an artistic touch.
• Prepare and maintain inventory.
• Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment.
• Standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects that may weigh 30 pounds.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• Must have 2-4 years of commensurate experience and be creative while still being able to follow established recipes.
• Formal training not necessary, but work experience, passion and pride in the finished product a must!
• Excellent time management, sense of urgency, detail oriented and organization skills.
• Reliable transportation
• Skill and flexibility to solve problems as they arise.
• Knowledge on Puerto Rican cuisine.

· Dairy free and gluten free baking knowledge helpful but not necessary.
